NEWS: Over the next six months, the Men’s EHF EURO 2020 branded tram will be seen on the streets of Graz which will host the preliminary group A with Croatia, Belarus, Montenegro and Serbia
EHF EURO 2020 tram hits the tracks in Graz
Promotion of the Men’s EHF EURO 2020 is underway in Graz where competition branded tram made its first trip through the streets of Graz on Wednesday, 8 August.
Over the next six months, the tram will be promoting the upcoming EHF EURO as the Styrian capital will host Croatia, Belarus, Montenegro and Serbia in the preliminary group.
The branded tram also features the Austrian nation team captain Nikola Bylik and right wing Robert Weber. Transporting numerous passengers in the next six months, the tram will spread the word about the championship and its claim "DREAM.WIN.REMEMBER.”.
The “EURO Tram” was is a result of the cooperation between Holding Graz, Graz Linien, Ankünder GmbH, Mitsubishi, national supplier of the Men’s EHF EURO 2020 and the Austrian Handball Federation.
The Austrian Handball Federation was able to close the deal with its partner Mitsubishi for the project with the company logo being represented on the tram.
The Japanese car manufacturer will provide the Austrian Handball Federation with a fleet of cars during the EHF EURO to transport referees, EHF delegates, officials and special VIP guests to the respective venues in Vienna and Graz.
Croatia return to Graz
In January 2020 Croatia will return to Graz exactly 10 years after they played their preliminary round matches at the EHF EURO 2010 in the Styrian capital. In 2010, Croatia were facing Russia, Norway and Ukraine. In January 2020 they will take on Belarus, Montenegro and Serbia.
Tickets for the venue in Graz are still available. All fans who want to see the matches in Stadthalle Graz need to hurry up and secure their day tickets or venue package on www.ehf-euro.com.
Bernd Rabenseifner, General Secretary of the Austrian Handball Federation: "With Croatia, Belarus, Montenegro and Serbia, Graz is an extremely attractive group. Based on discussions with the federations, we know that Graz is very much in demand for all fans. Croatia and Serbia have already announced large fan groups. Therefore, we cannot emphasize often enough that you should secure your ticket for the EHF EURO 2020 quickly".
Test matches the hosts in Graz
Before the EHF EURO 2020 in Graz opens on 9 January, the Austrian national team will play two test matches. In preparation for the EHF EURO, a one-week training course will be held in Graz in October. On 25 October Austria will play against Serbia and on 27 October against the Netherlands.
Aleš Pajovič, Head Coach of the Austrian national team: "I am looking forward to the two matches in Graz in October. The atmosphere here is always excellent, as you've seen against Sweden. You can feel a real sense of optimism in Graz. At the EURO itself we got an interesting group in which anything is possible for us."
