«Go back »Print Version

MEDIA INFORMATION: Details of where and when to watch round 2 of the Men’s EHF EURO 2022 qualifiers this weekend

The race to reach the Men’s EHF EURO 2022 in Hungary and Slovakia continues on Saturday and Sunday with round 2 of the qualifiers.

After this weekend, the qualifiers continue in January, April and May 2021.

In total, 32 nations in eight groups compete for the 20 tickets reserved for each of the eight group winners and runners-ups, as well as the four best third-ranked teams.

Besides the hosts, EHF EURO 2020 champions Spain and silver medallists Croatia have already directly qualified for the 2022 championship – and all four teams participate in the EHF EURO Cup, which has also started earlier this week.

The Men’s EHF EURO 2022 will begin on 13 January 2022, with matches taking place in five arenas: Budapest, Debrecen and Szeged in Hungary, and Bratislava and Kosice in Slovakia. The final will be staged in the newly-built 20,000-seater Budapest Arena on 30 January 2022.

Covid-19 cases lead to postponements

Following Covid-19 positive cases in the participating teams, teams in quarantine, or local pandemic measures, a number of matches in the Men’s EHF EURO 2022 Qualifiers and EHF EURO Cup have been postponed to a later date.
