FEATURE: The Turkish Handball Federation’s Master Plan project targets the ongoing participation of children and development of coaches
The EHF Master Plan, first presented in January 2020 following extensive research involving various stakeholders in European handball, was designed to make handball more attractive to fans; increase the number of players, coaches and officials; and create additional value for the sport. Within the framework of the EHF Master Plan, EHF member federations may create projects based on strategic long-term development plans and implement those with the support of the EHF.
The Turkish Handball Federation (THF) are one such member federation, whose Master Plan initiatives began in 2023 and are now well into the second year of activities. Along with the success of the project so far, 2024 is a good year for the THF, as they look ahead to a first major championship for one of their national teams, with the women’s side set to contest the EHF EURO 2024 after a historic qualification.
