They danced on the court, and they jumped for joy with the final buzzer. After a thrilling crunch time, Spain took the trophy at the EHF Men’s 19 European Open in Gothenburg. After winning all six matches, including a clear victory in the semi-final against Sweden, the team of head coach Nacho Moyano left Iceland closely behind, 31:30 in the final to finish the tournament with a clean record. For most of the players, it is already the second success at the European Open, as Spain had won the trophy in the Men’s U17 competition two years ago, beating France in the final 29:21.
