Junior World Championship taking place in Brno and Ostrava
World Championship throws off in Czech Republic
The Junior World Championship began in the Czech towns of Brno and Ostrava on Sunday 1 July. The event will run until Saturday, 14 July with 24 teams competing for the title.
In Brno (group C and D) and Ostrava (group A and B), some of the best up-and-coming junior players from around the world will take to court to show the handball world what the future has in store for women’s handball.
A total of 14 European teams will compete at this year’s tournament.
The Czech Republic qualified directly as host and Denmark and the Netherland qualifying as winners and runners-up of the EHF Women’s 19 European Championship 2011 respectively.
The 24 teams will be split into 4 groups of six teams:
